Intro

Situated in the malaria-free Masebe Reserve, this camp affords visitors a lovely opportunity to hike and mountain bike in a game reserve with no dangerous animals.

Attractions

Nthubu Safari Camp provides visitors to this Waterberg Reserve an opportunity for an extraordinarily tranquil experience. With options to go on drives, hike or mountain bike, the bush with its animals and birds provides extensive entertainment. Wonder at the caves in the sandstone cliffs, and see ancient bushman paintings. This is a place for people who want to ‘get away from it all’ and relax.

Facilities

Nthubu Safari Camp has 5 safari tents on wooden decks, each with two ¾ beds. Linen, bedding and towels are provided. There is a simple en-suite with flush toilet, basin and a bucket shower.

The kitchen, dining and camp-fire facilities are communal, and give adventure travelers an ideal opportunity to get to meet and interact with other like-minded travelers. You will share a gas hob and camp fire for cooking, as well as fridge and freezer for storage of food. The necessary pots, crockery & cutlery are also supplied.

There is no electricity, and paraffin or solar lanterns are provided for light at night. If self-catering, don’t forget to bring firewood.

Full-service Inclusions: Accommodation with linen & towels, all meals, 2 activities
Full-service Exclusions: Reserve entry fees into Letaba Ranch, Makuya, Masebe or Modjadji Reserves; gratuities
Self-catering Inclusions: Accommodation, self-catering facilities with gas cooker, fridge & freezer, cooking utensils, crockery & cutlery; a few LED solar lights in rooms and USB-solar charging facilities.
Self-catering Exclusions: Meals, Activities (no self-drive permitted from Manyeleti or Letaba Ranch Camps), gratuities.

Linen: Linen, including towels, is currently available and included in the rates at all the camps.

Please note: optional meals or activities must be pre-ordered & paid when booking accommodation. We do not carry any stock of alcohol, soft drinks or bottled water in the camps, and guests are advised to bring their own. Should this not be suitable for your clients, please advise us at the time of booking and we will quote for your specific requirements.

Directions from Gauteng:  Take the N1 to Polokwane. At the “Nyl Plaza” toll gate take the off ramp to Mokopane. In Mokopane turn left into Potgieter street. This road will take you onto the N11 to Groblers Bridge. Drive 83 km on the N11 and turn left onto a gravel road to Segole.( S23°32.508’ E28°42.898’) After 1.4 km turn right at the T junction.( S23°33.211’ E28°43.009’) Watch out for stray cattle and loose sand in the road.  After 9 km you will drive through Segole village. Continue with the same road and 1.2 km after crossing a single lane low water bridge, and a bend in the road to the right, turn right at the T junction.( S23°36.745’ E28°35.909’) Continue for 2 km and turn left at the T junction, direction Bankenberg.( S23°36.778’ E28°34.987’) After 3.5 km you will reach the Masebe Game Reserve gate on the left. Report to the security officer at the gate but please indicate that you are going to Nthubu camp. After signing the register you need to turn back and enter the Reserve at the gate across the road from the main gate.( S23°38.540’ E28°34.468’) From the gate follow the track and signposts for 6.3 km to Nthubu camp.( S23°38.402’ E28°31.443’). Total distance from Mokopane is 111 km and approximate driving time is 2 hours.

Directions from Limpopo/Polokwane:  At the traffic circle, at the entrance to Polokwane CBD, from Gauteng (N1), take the R567/ Nelson Mandela Drive.( S23°54.945’ E29°26.602’) After 1.2 km turn left at the traffic light onto the Matlala Road.( S23°54.278’ E29°26.498’) After 58 km you will reach a stop sign.( S23°38.182’ E29°00.858’) Turn left, direction Gilead. After 17 km you will reach a T junction.( S23°41.712’ E28°52.906’) Turn right onto the N11, direction Groblers Bridge. Drive 26 km on the N11 and turn left onto a gravel road to Segole . After 1.4 km turn right at the T junction.( S23°33.211’ E28°43.009’) Watch out for stray cattle and loose sand in the road. After 9 km you will drive through Segole village.
